Prior to establishing davidson+powers LLC with Ms. Davidson, Ms. Powers held the position of Vice President of Development Leasing for General Growth Properties, Inc.
Ms. Powers was responsible for establishment and execution of the retail positioning and leasing objectives for development and redevelopment projects. This included the collaborative processes of site assessment, best use study, competitive retail positioning, strategic merchandising and retail plan development. In addition, she was responsible for the formation, training and direction of leasing teams. During her tenure with General Growth she oversaw the leasing activities of 16 Million square feet of development and redevelopment projects as well as the ongoing leasing of 50 operating properties.
Preceding General Growth Properties, Ms. Powers was the Senior Vice President of Leasing and Merchandising for Trizec Properties (formerly know as the Hahn Company). While in this position, Ms. Powers oversaw the leasing activities for over 45 new and operating shopping centers.
She also played a leadership role in achieving an overall portfolio occupancy level of 96% as well as a sales’ dollar per square foot level which was one of the highest in the industry. In addition, Ms. Powers co-created and implemented the copyrighted and industry award winning merchandising and leasing strategy “Partnering in the Creation of Great Places.” This “Great Place” discipline was used in multiple project re-characterizations and developments ranging in scope from Park Meadows in Littleton, Colorado to Prudential Center in Boston to University Town Center in La Jolla, California as well as Hollywood & Highland.
Ms. Powers is a renowned industry speaker on the topic of shopping center development and merchandising and has received many awards for both leasing production and concept development.
